The Big Question

Action or plot?

Funny how these days I worry if this production will reach feature length. It's just getting bigger. It's possible that if I write in everything I want to, Delusion may certainly exceed 40 minutes and close in on 90. Just a few months ago I told myself there was no way I could write a feature. Now I'm trying not to write one...

I'm aiming for first draft by mid-August. I remember saying that like four months ago. :)

At it again

Back on track. Haven't written anything in a few weeks, but the ideas never stopped coming. Came up with some interesting visual-plot devices. One of them was actually planned for the first OTSS, but wasn't executed as I imagined it to be (climax of the standoff). Given the circumstances of the new scene, it will work better. The ending of OTSS 3 is now more of a shocker. Comes full circle with a character arc too. :)

Johnny Kim, the actor playing Andy, will be back here in the US for about a week in September. I plan to record his voice work then. Gonna need to get my ass into gear with the script if that is to happen.

I have to constantly remind myself that this is a short film and not a feature. The three put together may represent a feature, but to be honest there isn't enough material to constitute a feature... or is there? I really need to get some external feedback, but I'm afraid to show it in anything less than a complete form.

Slow

Progress is slow at the moment. Stuff to do, other projects to work on, etc.

Decided to change around some things. Restructuring the story. Came up with another cool action scene. Don't know where to fit it. Probably don't need it.

I think I will need to make an "official" announcement soon and start recruiting more talent. Several helpful guys have agreed to contribute to the project, so it's just a matter of finding specific crew members: modellers, animators, skinners, etc.
